Who is involved with the SHED Council?
Jim worked in the Florida Department of Commerce as an applied demographer in the economic development department. Within six years, the Florida Demographer was Chief of Florida’s Bureau of Business Assistance in 1988. These six years provided an exposure to all forms of economic and redevelopment research and practice.
Back home in Tampa, Jim worked as a local government manager and lead researcher for 18 years with Florida’s Comprehensive Planning law. At least one economic/community development plan was completed a year and literally hundreds of millions of dollars in investment were leveraged from government and the private sector.
After 24 years in State and local government, Jim made the transition to the private sector in 2006 with special areas of demographic work in school enrollment and water/wastewater demand projections and redevelopment consulting. Jim served as the Tampa Bay Regional Representative for the Florida Redevelopment Association (2006- 2008) and is currently owner of Demographic Decision Dynamics, LLC - jim@demographic3d.com
